Quest has the unique ability to assist customers in their new product
processes. Whether we are driving the process, participating in it or
providing additional resources, Quest contributes its own brand of creative
inspiration to every product we help develop.
Innovation begins with an idea. Quest uses several Inspiration Tools
and Techniques to generate new ideas.
Futures Presentation
A creative tool that translates trends into the future. This is one of
the first steps in brainstorming. What will people want in the future?
Purple Hair Gang
A group of people screened for creativity. Members are chosen for a variety
of backgrounds, end use familiarity and levels of technical expertise.
Trained Moderators
Quest employees trained as Synetics (a consulting firm specializing in
ideation) moderators using the associative technique.
Food Conceptor
A technique used to better develop vague concepts.
Semantic Dictionary
A tool that helps with defining concepts and translating them into workable
products.
Other Quest Marketing tools are used to improve the predictability of
consumer acceptance.
LISA
LISA or the Linking of Ingredient and Sensory Data to Acceptance is a
three-year project with the goal of identifying a set of key impact flavor
ingredients that are present in generally liked food products. Consumer
studies, sensory evaluation and technical input are used to reveal popular
ingredients.
Flavor and Texture Language
A set of tools that allows Quest employees to discuss flavor concepts
internally, with the customer and also with an eye towards bridging the
gap with consumers.
Sensory Evaluation
An in-house panel whose role is to optimize product submissions. Consumer
panels do consumer tasting and expert panels are used to describe flavors.
Analytical Capabilities
Analytical works closely with flavor development to evaluation flavors
and uncover ingredient interactions. In general, they are trying to find
the drivers of a successful flavor.
